My hip pain became really bad in April of 2022. It was hard to walk, sleep, get in and out of the car and golf (the sport I love) became unbearable. I was an active person and as a real estate agent I was on my feet and in and out of houses pretty much everyday. I found I could no longer do anything without being in constant pain. I was limping and favouring my hip and my mental health was rapidly declining.

After paying for an MRI at a private clinic I discovered my hip had arthritis. (In Canada the wait list to get an MRI is months)   I was able to see an orthopedic surgeon within a couple of months who suggested I start with a hyaluronic acid shot (not covered by medical in Canada so I paid out of pocket) . I waited 3 months to get it and the shot lasted about  two weeks. I then had to wait to go back and see the surgeon again (it’s now been 8 months). He told me he would put me on a waiting list for a total hip replacement  and that it will more than likely take about a year or longer. In the meantime, I was given heavy pain killers that I really didn’t want to take as I also had an ulcer from overusing ibuprofen but nothing seemed to help the pain. The thought of waiting a year in constant pain, not being able to do things I love such as golf and walking made me search for other options. When I first came across Nord, my initial reaction was “you’re crazy, not a chance you’ll consider flying around the world for hip surgery” Well, after tons and tons of homework, it all made sense to go so I called Nord and within 2 weeks I was booked for surgery. I went by myself and it was super easy. Nord took care of absolutely everything for me from picking me up at the airport to driving me to the clinic and then to UPA Spa for a week of recovery. I can not say enough good things about Nord from my first interaction with Ruta who organized everything to the nurses, my incredible surgeon Dr  Sarunas Tarasevicius, the drivers and then the UPA medical Spa which consisted of daily massages, doctors visits, light therapy, physiotherapy, cryotherapy, amazing meals and service and beautiful clean rooms. Since heading over 3 months ago, 7 people have contacted me from Canada and have also gone over. Everyone is just as thrilled as I am with their experience and results. If you are on the fence about going, do it! you won’t regret it. I now have my life back and I’m out golfing 18 holes pretty much everyday, after 8 weeks I went to Las Vegas for a conference, danced all night at a concert and walked 25k steps per day.  I’m enjoying every single second of my life thanks to Nord. I have zero pain and when people ask how I’m doing I have to stop and ask myself why they are asking! I forget I have a new hip.  I’m forever grateful to Nord Clinic! Picture I took today of me and my granddaughter out golfing.

Hi, I am Chris and I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. I have just returned from Nord and UPA with my new knee. I was recommended to Nord my a friend who had a TKR in March.

All the good things I was told and everything I read on the Nord FB page are totally true. From the logistics team on first contact, the surgeons and nurses at the clinic, the staff and accommodation at UPA to the drivers who get you where you need to be, all are wonderful, helpful and reliable. I would recommend Nord to anyone.

I travelled to Nord from Canada in March 2023 for a hip arthroscopy to repair a torn labrum and remove a cam type impingement. I decided to travel to Nord due to the wait times in Canada and my experience was excellent, from the booking process to the logistics and surgery itself. I was impressed by the numerous positive testimonials posted online, but finally made my decision to travel to the clinic for the procedure, after having a discussion with a fellow Barbadian who had a similar procedure done a year earlier. He spoke glowingly of the facility, the service and the results of his surgery.

Booking the surgery, travel, etc. was very easy with help from Emilija at Nord and the process took no time at all. Nord provides all transportation required during your trip (airport to hotel, hotel to clinic), which made the whole experience that much easier. The surgeon, Dr. Loiba, and his team were very informative pre- and post-surgery and my experience at the clinic was excellent overall. The pricing is very reasonable considering all that Nord provides and the lack of a wait time. I am back in Canada now and looking forward to recovering from my injury years earlier than I would have otherwise, thanks to Nord.

The initial correspondence in preparation for the visit to the facility was exceptional. All my questions and concerns were answered. I was well prepared for what to expect and provided with all the information I required, such as cost, assistance in hotel accommodation, airport pickup, transportation, suggestions as it related to packing for the trip, etc.  In addition, there was no language barrier as all correspondence was well communicated in English and on a prompt basis.

On meeting the surgeon, I immediately felt a sense of comfort based on our initial conversation. I was most impressed with his explanations relating to the surgery and his willingness to address all my questions/concerns.

The surgery was done, and it was an excellent job.

After spending two nights at the clinic after surgery, I chose to spend an additional 9 days at the ‘UPA” SPA Rehabilitation Centre in the town of Druskininkai.. I believe this decision further accelerated my recovery process due to the immediate post-surgery therapy and treatment sessions. On leaving the facility to return home, I was walking comfortably with the limited assistance of one cane and very little post-surgery discomfort.  The arthritic pain which I had been experiencing before the surgery had completely gone.

Based on my experience, I wholeheartedly recommend the Nordclinic to anyone who may be considering this facility as an option.

Michael from Alberta, Canada started searching for another option to have a hip replacement surgery after hearing that he would need to wait for the operation for from to three years in his home country.

I am from Manitoba Canada and I had a total hip replacement at Nord orthopaedics in Lithuania on the 6th of Jan. 2020. I have had pain in my hip for about a year. I found out that I would probably have to wait about 2 years for a hip replacement in Manitoba so I started researching my options.

I found a number of options available to me from mexico to the U.S, to germany and costa rica. I chose Nordorthopaedics because of the experience of the surgeons and the type of implants available to me. I had contacted 3 places prior to getting in touch with Aurelija. From the first time we corresponded I was confident that I would be well looked after. She made all the arrangements for my wife and I to go to the clinic and then on to the health spa following surgery. We chose my surgery date and booked our flights. When we arrived in Vilnius until we left 12 days later we were well looked after. We were quite apprehensive travelling that far from home to a strange country to have a major operation but after talking to the surgeon on the morning before the operation I knew it was the rite decision. We had nothing to worry about from the time we arrived and were met at the airport in Vilnius to the time we were dropped off at the same place to fly home. We met some terrific people. The whole experience was terrific from start to finish. I am sitting in my living room writing this review 3 weeks post op with no pain and no problems. I would highly recommend if anyone needs orthopaedic surgery to give these people a call. They respond very quickly with all the info you could need to make a decision. PS. I almost forgot to mention that the cost of my total hip replacement was about half of what it would have cost in the U.S. and this included the flights and 9 days in the recovery spa for 2 of us.

Writing this back home in Montreal almost four weeks post, right, complete, hip replacement surgery: I’m recovering very well and am 100% confident in providing a clear assessment of all services provided by NordoOthopaedics. They were unquestionably the most professional organization that I’ve ever dealt with. From the initial contact with Rūta Galvanauskaitė the Customer service representative that, courteously, expediently and expertly guided me through the whole process, to the very end with a driver taking me to the hotel airport in Vilnius; everything went flawlessly.

Meeting the exceptionally skilled hip surgeon professor Sarunas Tarasevicius post surgery I was reassured that the surgery had gone well and was struck by how humble and down to earth he was. He took the time to answer all of my questions with a smile. As a testament to his skill, as detailed in the surgical report, precise measurements of the implant are taken, resulting in both my legs now being of equal length. Before surgery, owing, I surmise, to a complete loss of articular cartilage my right leg had become noticeably shorter than my left leg. Speaking of the implant: I was provided with traceability stickers detailing all of the Swiss made implanted parts (Manufacturer, Description, Catalogue number, Lot batch numbers, etc…) which is most impressive and makes me feel like a bionic man (Steve Austin, eat your heart out!). During the hospital stay, the nursing staff were attentive and kind. Following my scheduled hospital discharge, over the course of seven days, physiotherapist Laimonas Siupsinskas provided me with the exercises and guidance to get me back on track. As an added bonus Kaunas is a safe, architecturally beautiful and a very interesting city to visit. If you’re reading this you most probably are in the same desperate state that I found myself in. Living in a so called rich nation with a broken public health care system, without a family doctor, on an interminable surgical waiting list and suffering in perpetuity. Put and end to your suffering book with NordoOrthopaedics, and don’t worry, you’ll be in exceptional hands.
